1940’s-1960’s Era Danforth Constellation
Marine Compass.
This is a vintage nautical instrument primarily used for ship navigation.
•Manufacturer: Danforth, often associated with Kelvin White.
•Model: Constellation series, specifically noted for its “Hi-Speed” performance in some variants.
•Housing: This unit features a stainless steel housing, showing a weathered patina.
•Design: It includes a hooded protective cover and a light fixture “channel light” at the top to illuminate the compass dial for nighttime use.
Purpose: This light illuminates the compass dial and the “lubber’s line” for nighttime navigation.

This is a full working compasses the globe is clear, has no missing liquid and no bubbles. the light is untested, but all wiring is present.
These compasses are highly sought after as maritime collectibles or for restoration on vintage boats.
See pics, there is some checking in the globe from being dropped / hit “no leaks” the slide does open & close but with some difficulty. There are some dent in the slide & cover as clearly seen in the pics. These dents can be removed by a body repairman, and the slide / door will open as should.
